We all know how good chocolate ice cream is.
It's creamy, it's delicious, it's chocolate.
One of my many tests with the Ninja Creami is seeing how many variations on chocolate ice cream I can make. We've done chocolate orange, chocolate peanut butter, and even chocolate potato chip!
Now, it's time for a new favorite: chocolate bacon ice cream!
Sweet and salty is an ultimate flavor combination, so why not try that with a Ninja Creami recipe? This chocolate bacon ice cream doesn't disappoint.
Alex and I are huge fans of a salty sweet combo, so we figured adding bacon to ice cream would be perfect. We decided to go with a chocolate base, since chocolate makes everything better, right?
I also wanted to try this Ninja Creami flavor out because I've had some delicious chocolate bars with bacon in them. Sometimes Santa slips them into my stocking at Christmas, and they're one of the first things to go!
Most of this ice cream is simple to make, but you will need some cooked bacon to add as a mix-in! I know, bacon can be a pain to cook, but I won't tell if you use the microwaveable bacon. I like to call it fakin' bacon.
However, if you're not a fan of cooking bacon, try baking it in the oven! I've found that this is much easier and takes almost no time to cleanup. Instead of cleaning pans and bacon spatter, you just throw away a piece of parchment paper and wash one pan.
However you decide to cook your bacon, don't be afraid to give this chocolate bacon ice cream a try!
So if you're a fan of anything salty and sweet, grab some bacon, a Ninja Creami pint, and get spinning!
While the Ninja Creami is a machine with only 7 (or 11) buttons, it can still be intimidating! Here are a few tips and tricks Alex and I have picked up since beginning our ice cream journey with the Ninja Creami!

Chocolate bacon ice cream combines the flavors of chocolate and bacon together for the perfect sweet and salty combination!
To make this recipe in the Ninja Creami Deluxe, multiply all ingredients by 1.5
Note: 1 serving = 1 pint
Place 1 tbsp cream cheese in a medium bowl and microwave for 5-10 seconds. If the cream cheese was in the fridge, these 5-10 seconds in the microwave will help soften it up to mix well with the other ingredients.
Combine cream cheese with 1 tsp vanilla extract and 1/3 cup granulated sugar. Whisk until the ingredients are mixed together.
Whisk in 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder.
Slowly whisk in 1 cup whole milk and 3/4 cup heavy cream.
Pour the mixture into a Ninja Creami pint container, ensuring it does not go over the max fill line.
Freeze the pint for 24 hours, making sure it is placed on a flat surface in the freezer.
After 24 hours, remove the pint from the freezer, and plug in your Ninja Creami machine! Time for the magic.
Remove the lid from the pint and grab the Ninja Creami outer bowl. Place the pint securely into the outer bowl and cover with the lid. Once the lid is on, place the outer bowl into the machine, twisting to the right until it locks into place. Press the "Ice Cream" button and (try to) wait patiently for the creamy treat coming your way.
Once the process is finished, press and hold the button on the left side of the Creami to twist the bowl to the left and remove it from the machine. Twist the lid off of the outer bowl and remove the pint.
Time for the mix-in!
Carve a hole down the center of the pint and mix in 1/4 cup chopped bacon.
Place the pint back into the Ninja Creami and select the "Mix-In" function.
Or, if you want the bacon to remain a bit chunkier, simply mix it in by hand!
Now your Chocolate Bacon ice cream is ready to enjoy!
If you don't like following recipes, don't worry - you can customize it however you want! We personally use oat milk and coconut cream to avoid most of the dairy, and it's some of the best ice cream we've ever had.
