It's finally the season! Thanksgiving is over and it's now acceptable to listen to Christmas music, eat candy canes, drink hot cocoa, and watch Hallmark Christmas movies every night! Maybe it's just me, but this is my absolute favorite time of year.
Christmas time just brings a little extra joy to each day.
It's not just the lights, the movies, the music, (the list could go on and on), it's the special time with family and loved ones that really make the season amazing! Since it's now the most wonderful time of the year, Alex and I thought we would share one of our favorite holiday-themed ice cream flavors: white chocolate peppermint ice cream!
After staring at the candy canes I put on the tree, I thought of all the great peppermint flavor combinations we could make with our Ninja Creami.
First on my list was combining peppermint with white chocolate. I'm not usually a white chocolate fan, but mix it with peppermint and I could eat it all day.
This delicious ice cream tastes just like peppermint bark, but in creamy form!
We used simple white chocolate morsels for this recipe; they don't need to be anything fancy! We also used some crushed up candy canes, but any crushed up peppermint candy will do the trick. There is a bit more prep involved, but the end product is definitely worth it.
If you're looking for something to spice up your holiday spirit, give this Ninja Creami ice cream recipe a try!
While the Ninja Creami is a machine with only 7 (or 11) buttons, it can still be intimidating! Here are a few tips and tricks Alex and I have picked up since beginning our ice cream journey with the Ninja Creami!

White chocolate peppermint ice cream combines melted white chocolate morsels with peppermint extract and crushed candy canes for a delightful holiday flavor that can (and should) be enjoyed any time of year!
To make this recipe in the Ninja Creami Deluxe, multiply all ingredients by 1.5
Note: 1 serving = 1 pint
Place 1 tbsp cream cheese in a medium bowl and microwave for 5-10 seconds. If the cream cheese was in the fridge, these 5-10 seconds in the microwave will help soften it up to mix well with the other ingredients.
Combine cream cheese with 1 tsp peppermint extract and 1/3 cup granulated sugar. Whisk until the ingredients are mixed together.
Slowly whisk in 1 cup whole milk and 3/4 cup heavy cream.
Warm a small sauce pot on low heat and pour the mixture in. Add in 1/4 cup white chocolate chips and cook until melted, stirring occasionally. On our stove it took about 20 minutes, but our stove is also 30 years old, so expect it to take around 15 minutes and keep an eye on it!
Once the white chocolate chips are fully melted and combined throughout the mixture, let the mixture cool so it can be poured into the pint container. If you let the mixture cool too long and some of the white chocolate begins to separate, just whisk it quickly before pouring it into the Creami pint.
Pour the mixture into a Ninja Creami pint container, ensuring it does not go over the max fill line.
Freeze the pint for 24 hours, making sure it is placed on a flat surface in the freezer.
After 24 hours, remove the pint from the freezer, and plug in your Ninja Creami machine! Time for the magic.
Remove the lid from the pint and grab the Ninja Creami outer bowl. Place the pint securely into the outer bowl and cover with the lid. Once the lid is on, place the outer bowl into the machine, twisting to the right until it locks into place. Press the "Ice Cream" button and (try to) wait patiently for the creamy treat coming your way.
Once the process is finished, press and hold the button on the left side of the Creami to twist the bowl to the left and remove it from the machine. Twist the lid off of the outer bowl and remove the pint.
Now it's time for mix-ins! Carve a hole in the ice cream and drop in 1/8 cup crushed candy canes. Feel free to adjust the amount as you see fit! Place the pint back into the Ninja Creami machine and select "Mix-In".
Now your white chocolate peppermint ice cream is ready to enjoy!
