When you think of a fruity sorbet, what comes to mind? Hopefully, this pineapple sorbet will soon be at the front of your mind!
Pineapple is a fruit that has such a unique, tropical flavor. That’s what makes this Ninja Creami pineapple sorbet such a delicious option. It’s packed with flavor, and delivers on strong pineapple flavor!
This past year, Alex and I traveled to Hawaii for a vacation. One of the top things on my list was drinking a drink out of a whole pineapple. I’m not sure why, but I thought it was the coolest thing to drink something out of a giant pineapple.
I got my wish when we were in Honolulu, and I was able to drink pineapple juice straight out of the fruit! They scooped out the insides and pureed them, then poured them back in and stuck a fun straw and umbrella in it to enjoy. I was sold!
After drinking out of the pineapple for half an hour, I had finished all of it. I definitely drank it too fast and gave myself a stomach ache, but the pineapple flavor was surprisingly refreshing.
See, I’ve never been a huge pineapple fan, but something about fresh pineapple in the warm summertime had me hooked on the flavor.
That overpriced pineapple drink gave us the idea to try to turn pineapple into a Ninja Creami sorbet!
All you need for this recipe is a can of crushed pineapple in pineapple juice. You can also use other canned types of pineapple in this sorbet recipe!
Since the canned pineapple comes in it’s own pineapple juice, it may need a bit of extra sweetness for your liking. This is completely optional as everyone’s taste buds are different, but I enjoyed this sorbet even more after adding some sugar to the base! I felt that it really brought the pineapple flavor out and helped the sorbet be extra creamy!
So if you love pineapples (or even if you don’t), grab a can of pineapples, a Ninja Creami pint, and get spinning!
First Time Using the Ninja Creami or Looking for Tips?
While the Ninja Creami is a machine with only 7 (or 11) buttons, it can still be intimidating! Here are a few tips and tricks Alex and I have picked up since beginning our ice cream journey with the Ninja Creami!
- Can I use fresh pineapple? Sure! While the canned pineapples are recommended, you could try fresh fruit. Just make sure to puree the pineapple before adding it to the base! If you use fresh fruit, it also helps to add 1/4 cup granulated sugar to the base before freezing to ensure the sorbet is sweet enough!
- Do I need to get the pineapples in light or heavy syrup? It’s typically easier to make canned fruit into sorbet when it’s in light or heavy syrup because these help sweeten the final product, but you can so just use the canned pineapple in pineapple juice. When it’s just the fruit in its own juice, I usually add a bit of sugar to sweeten the sorbet, but that is completely optional!
- What should I do if my sorbet comes out crumbly after the first spin? I recommend adding a tablespoon of milk (any type will work) and re-spinning on Re-Spin. Repeat this process until you achieve the desired level of creaminess!
- What button should I use to spin my sorbet? I recommend the “Sorbet” button (naturally). Since this mixture is almost all fruit, the sorbet setting will be the best option!
- Do I need to re-spin my sorbet if I freeze it after spinning? I found the perfect way to enjoy sorbet another time is to let it sit on the counter for about 15 minutes, no spinning required. The wait is difficult, but it’s worth it!

Ninja Creami Pineapple Sorbet
Description
Pineapple sorbet uses a single ingredient (or two if you like things extra sweet) to create a refreshingly delicious sorbet. Easy, simple, and fruity, this sorbet should be at the top of your summertime list!
To make this recipe in the Ninja Creami Deluxe, multiply all ingredients by 1.5
Note: 1 serving = 1 pint
Ingredients
Instructions
Pour a 15 oz can of crushed pineapple in pineapple juice into a food processor.
Pulse for a few seconds until the pineapple is pureed.
Pour the pureed pineapple into a Ninja Creami pint, ensuring it does not go past the max fill line.
(Optional) Stir in 1/4 cup granulated sugar if you're looking for an extra sweet sorbet.
Freeze the pint for 24 hours, making sure it is placed on a flat surface in the freezer.
After 24 hours, remove the pint from the freezer, and plug in your Ninja Creami machine! Time for the magic.
Remove the lid from the pint and grab the Ninja Creami outer bowl. Place the pint securely into the outer bowl and cover with the lid. Once the lid is on, place the outer bowl into the machine, twisting to the right until it locks into place. Press the "Sorbet" button and (try to) wait patiently for the creamy treat coming your way.
Once the process is finished, press and hold the button on the left side of the Creami to twist the bowl to the left and remove it from the machine. Twist the lid off of the outer bowl and remove the pint.
Now your pineapple sorbet is ready to enjoy!
