Sorry kids, this sorbet recipe is adults-only. Adults, get ready to discover a new favorite Ninja Creami recipe.

Have you ever been to a vineyard or restaurant that serves frosé or wine slushies? Frosé is essentially rosé, but in delicious slushie form. That’s what this sangria sorbet is. The texture isn’t very creamy and it has the feel of a slushie rather than smooth sorbet.

This sorbet recipe is one of the simplest that we’ve done. There’s only one ingredient: sangria!

Feel free to use your favorite brand or type. I used Winking Owl sangria from Aldi (they’re $3 for a bottle), and it came out with the perfect texture and flavor.

When I go to a vineyard, a wine slushie is my favorite treat. There’s just something special about having wine in an icy form. Maybe it’s the way that takes me back to drinking a slushie as a kid, but the flavor is just so refreshing.

So grab some sangria, a Ninja Creami pint, and get spinning!

First Time Using the Ninja Creami or Looking for Tips?

While the Ninja Creami is a machine with only 7 (or 11) buttons, it can still be intimidating! Here are a few tips and tricks Alex and I have picked up since beginning our ice cream journey with the Ninja Creami!

  • Can I substitute sangria with another type of wine? Sure! It should come out the same, so feel free to use your favorite type of wine and follow this recipe!
  • What button should I use to spin my sorbet? I recommend the “Sorbet” button (naturally). Since this mixture is almost all fruit, the sorbet setting will be the best option!
  • Do I need to re-spin my sorbet if I freeze it after spinning? No! This recipe makes it easy to eat leftovers, because the texture tastes like a slushie even after re-freezing. How easy is that?

Ninja Creami Sangria Sorbet

Difficulty: Beginner Prep Time 2 mins Cook Time 5 mins Rest Time 24 hrs Total Time 24 hrs 7 mins
Servings: 1
Best Season: Suitable throughout the year

Description

Sangria sorbet uses only one ingredient (sangria) to make a delicious sorbet. It actually has a texture similar to a wine slushie, and it's extra refreshing and delicious!

To make this recipe in the Ninja Creami Deluxe, multiply all ingredients by 1.5

Note: 1 serving = 1 pint

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Pour 2 cups sangria into the Ninja Creami pint, ensuring it does not go past the max fill line.

  2. Freeze the pint for 24 hours, making sure it is placed on a flat surface in the freezer.

  3. After 24 hours, remove the pint from the freezer, and plug in your Ninja Creami machine! Time for the magic.

Remove the lid from the pint and grab the Ninja Creami outer bowl. Place the pint securely into the outer bowl and cover with the lid. Once the lid is on, place the outer bowl into the machine, twisting to the right until it locks into place. Press the "Sorbet" button and (try to) wait patiently for the creamy treat coming your way.

  4. Once the process is finished, press and hold the button on the left side of the Creami to twist the bowl to the left and remove it from the machine. Twist the lid off of the outer bowl and remove the pint.

  5. Now your sangria sorbet is ready to enjoy!

If you don't like following recipes, don't worry - you can customize it however you want! We personally use oat milk and coconut cream to avoid most of the dairy, and it's some of the best ice cream we've ever had.
