Are you looking for a fruity and refreshing sorbet that can easily be made in your Ninja Creami?

Look no further than this tasty watermelon sorbet recipe!

First, I have to admit, I’m not the biggest fan of fresh watermelon.

I always wish that it had more of a strong burst of flavor like strawberries or raspberries. Fresh watermelon always seemed a little watered down (which I guess makes sense given the name).

This summer, I have changed my mind a bit after having some really good watermelon. I had it with goat cheese (which doesn’t sound like the best combo), but the flavors worked so well together!

Besides the one time, when anyone would ask if I liked watermelon, my go-to response was: “I like artificial watermelon”! I enjoy watermelon flavored items like candy, popsicles, and other things that are artificially sweetened. But the real fruit has never really done it for me.

Until now.

This watermelon sorbet was full of flavor and brought the best of both worlds to the Ninja Creami! Easy to make and even easier to eat the entire pint.

The fruity sorbet is bursting with watermelon flavor, so much so that it could never be considered watered down! Best of all, the fresh flavor shines through in each and every bite.

The best part about this Creami sorbet recipe? It only takes two ingredients to make!

So if you’re looking for a fruity new sorbet recipe, grab a watermelon, a Ninja Creami pint, and get spinning!

First Time Using the Ninja Creami or Looking for Tips?

While the Ninja Creami is a machine with only 7 (or 11) buttons, it can still be intimidating! Here are a few tips and tricks Alex and I have picked up since beginning our ice cream journey with the Ninja Creami!

  • Can I use frozen watermelon? Sure! You can let the frozen watermelon chunks thaw and puree them. As long as they are able to be turned into a watermelon-liquid, they will work just as well as fresh watermelon!
  • My sorbet came out crumbly after my first spin. What should I do? Don’t worry! All you need to do is add a little bit of liquid and re-spin. We added a dash of milk (any type will work), hit the “Re-Spin” button, and the texture came out perfect. Just repeat this method until you get the desired texture.
  • What button should I use to spin my sorbet? I recommend the “Sorbet” button (naturally). Since this mixture is almost all fruit, the sorbet setting will be the best option!
  • Do I need to re-spin my sorbet if I freeze it after spinning? I’ve found that the easiest way to enjoy sorbet on the second day (or after a spun sorbet has been frozen again) is to let the pint sit on the counter for about 10 – 15 minutes. This will allow the sorbet to thaw and get back to that creamy texture we all love. However, if you decide to re-spin, the sorbet may be crumbly again, but you can fix that with a little milk and a re-spin!

Ninja Creami Watermelon Sorbet

Difficulty: Beginner Prep Time 10 mins Cook Time 5 mins Rest Time 24 hrs Total Time 24 hrs 15 mins
Servings: 1
Best Season: Summer

Description

Watermelon sorbet uses fresh fruit and a bit of sugar to create a flavorful and delicious sorbet!

To make this recipe in the Ninja Creami Deluxe, multiply all ingredients by 1.5

Note: 1 serving = 1 pint

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Cut fresh watermelon into cubes (removing seeds if preferred).

  2. Add the cubed watermelon to a food processor (or blender).

Add in 1/4 cup granulated sugar.
  3. Puree the watermelon and sugar together until smooth.

Pour the pureed watermelon (approximately 2 cups) into the Ninja Creami pint, ensuring the liquid does not go over the max fill line.

  4. Freeze the pint for 24 hours, making sure it is placed on a flat surface in the freezer.

  5. After 24 hours, remove the pint from the freezer, and plug in your Ninja Creami machine! Time for the magic.

Remove the lid from the pint and grab the Ninja Creami outer bowl. Place the pint securely into the outer bowl and cover with the lid. Once the lid is on, place the outer bowl into the machine, twisting to the right until it locks into place. Press the "Sorbet" button and (try to) wait patiently for the creamy treat coming your way.

  6. Once the process is finished, press and hold the button on the left side of the Creami to twist the bowl to the left and remove it from the machine. Twist the lid off of the outer bowl and remove the pint.

  7. If the sorbet is crumbly, add a dash of milk (any type will work) into the pint and press the "Re-Spin" button.

Repeat until sorbet is the desired texture.

  8. Now your watermelon sorbet is ready to enjoy!
