Are you looking for ways to spice up your favorite Ninja Creami creations? Look no further than this sweet and simple strawberry sauce!

Strawberries are one of my favorite fruits. I love eating the red, juicy berries as soon as they come into season.

Although strawberries were one of my favorite fruits, I was never much of a strawberry sauce fan. Something about the store bought sauces from the big companies just never tasted the same as the real thing. So, Alex and I set out on a quest to make our own sauce.

This strawberry sauce is so much better than the ones they try to sell you in the squeeze bottles second to none! Plus, you can pronounce all of the ingredients and know what is going in your sauce.

This sweet fruity sauce goes well with anything we’ve dared to pair it with! Our personal favorites are pairing it with vanilla bean ice cream and darkest chocolate gelato.

There are two things we love about this sauce: how simple it is to make and how versatile it is.

First off, it is made with only two ingredients: strawberries and sugar. That’s it! Mix those two ingredients together and boom! You get the strawberry sauce of your dreams.

And then, of course, there’s how versatile the sauce is. We can’t even count how many ice cream flavors this sauce takes to the next level! We’ve tried it with vanilla bean, chocolate baileys, peanut butter, and even cake batter. It has been the ‘icing on the cake’ every time!

This sauce can even go with desserts other than ice cream. Want to spice up some cake? Drizzle some sauce on top, or have it as a base for a cake slice to lay on and you’ve just elevated your dessert-game. If you want to make it a home run, add some ice cream on there (sorry, we really like ice cream)!

Smooth, fruity, delicious! Make this sauce once, and you’ll be making it again, and again, and again (we promise).

First Time Making Strawberry Sauce or Looking for Tips?

Making sauces for ice cream (or really any dessert) seems simple, but there are plenty of questions you might have and that’s what we’re here for!

  • Can I use frozen strawberries? Sure! You can use frozen strawberries to make the sauce, just make sure they are thawed before cooking with them. We think fresh strawberries provide the best flavor, but we understand sometimes it’s easier to use frozen fruit!
  • How should I store the sauce? We recommend keeping the sauce in a jar or container that can be sealed tight. Our favorite is a mason jar, but any container with an air-tight seal will work! The sauce should also be refrigerated.
  • How long does the sauce last? The sauce should last for 1-2 weeks if properly stored and refrigerated.
  • What can I put the sauce on? You can put it on anything! We love it on ice cream, sorbet, gelato, biscuits, or cake! That’s the best part about these sauces: they’re more than just ice cream sundae sauce!

So no matter if you’re looking for ice cream sundae sauce or a sauce to drizzle on your favorite cake, grab some strawberries and get cooking!

Note: 1 serving = 12 oz strawberry sauce

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Rinse a quart of fresh strawberries in the sink.

    Cut each strawberry into quarters.

  2. Place a small pot on the stove to low-medium heat.

  3. Add the quartered strawberries and 1/2 cup granulated sugar to the pot.

  4. Stir constantly until the sugar liquefies, then continue stirring occasionally for a total of 25 minutes.

  5. Pour the strawberry sauce from the stove into a food processor or blender and pulse until smooth.

  6. Using a strainer, strain the sauce from the food processor/blender into an air-tight jar.

This will remove any seeds, resulting in a perfectly smooth sauce!
